well today was my first day back at work. i wasn't actually planning on going back but when some dayhome plans fell through, i thought maybe i'd put my name in at work and see what shifts i got, and go from there. the first few weeks of shifts aren't bad so i'm working them. most are evenings and weekends (with the exception of today which was 8am-3:30pm and one other shift) so it will work out fine. it will give daddy a chance to have all 3 kiddos for a long stretch on the weekends!
to be honest, i do enjoy the break but i could do without and be just fine... i am not the mom who can work full time away from my kids. there is nothing wrong with those who can -- all the power to you! but i, for one, can't do it. it felt SOOOO weird to be away from my kids today. just really really weird. i called home a couple of times.... but the weirdest was to leave this morning before anyone woke up! (except kai, momma's boy must be able to sense this type of thing) yes, this working gig is not for me... at least not right now. i will work this month's shifts and my last day is sept 3rd. then i am home with my babies!!! oh, and i was bored out of my mind at work too! the kids at least keep me on my toes! haha! and to end the day, i got my classic telus headache... not sure why but i got them ALL the time while working there... i thought it was a pregnant thing, or maybe from staring at a computer for so long, but today i was only on a computer for about 1.5 hours total so that can't be it.
ok have to run. tomorrow i'm looking forward to a house packed full of kids (6!) and we're going to make a trip to the park, and later on celebrate a friend's birthday!

Telus headache = florescent lighting. I used to have to sit in certain desks that didn't have light right above it, and there were people who wore tinted glasses and sunglasses to prevent it.
i couldn't work full time away from my kids either. i want to go back to school but think i will even put that off because that means i won't be able to volunteer in the classroom much when they are both in school if i am also in school.
glad to see blogger is working for you again. the pics are lovely.
