miss emerson...

today the nurse came out to silver nitrate em's tube again... she surprised us and brought along a physio therapist (i think that is her title??) and she evaluated emmy's physical activity. emerson scored in the whopping 5th percentile only.... hmmm... oh well! she'll catch up soon i'm sure. she doesn't pull to stand, doesn't do ANYTHING on her tummy except roll one direction. she won't go on her tummy at all -- she just automatically turns to her back even before her tummy hits the floor. (they said this is common for hospital babies who spent a lot of the early months on her back, which she did!) she is almost rolling from her back to side but can't get to her tummy from back.... she can't get from lying to sitting, or from sitting to any other position. she does grab for things and reach beside her. i'm really confident she will just keep improving, however we didn't know if she would have any other "challenges" besides the swalloing/feeding difficulties so sometimes i do wonder! oh well, she's cute and she is loved!
