we had an awesome, jam-packed, fun-filled day!

well thank god today was better than tuesday! today was opposite, everything was positive instead of negative and we all had fun!

we went to the legislature grounds for some water fun with sara & her kiddos, we had 1 dayhome girl with us as well. parking was insane but otherwise it was fun and i even had my first FAT FRANKS (veggie) hot dog of the summer! woo hoo! i introduced the kids to FAT FRANKS as well!

then back home, exchanged 1 dayhome girl for 2 more dayhome girls LOL -- and after a short time at home to re-group, we were off to IKEA and the kids played in the playland and i did some shopping for my sister. then we all had ice cream!

had an interview afterwards back at home that went very well! better than i had imagined and i'm excited about that! on a sad note, today was one dayhome girl's last day and tomorrow is her sister's last day. i'm very sad :( my kids will be too.... actually this is going to be a big deal for them but they don't know it yet.

oh, and GREAT news from the bank! ask me about it if you want to know.... and we should have a car for kipp this weekend! yay! good day all around.

WEIRD!!!

ok i wrote a post yesterday, complaining about my day and i included 2 pictures, and then today it's gone! i SAW it on my blog, it emailed me that notification that it was posted but today it's gone. who is messing with my blog?!???

ok so yesterday's post was me whining.... had a really bad day here at home. nothing positive happened, i freaked on my kids and still feel like i've scarred them emotionally for life :( i also have been stressed about something rather major but i can't go into detail just yet. also the bank called with not the news i wanted to hear. just several things throughout the day just built up and nothing good happened.

havin' fun at the beach!

i love this weather! i can't say that enough! friday was spent at the playground over here, then looking at garage sales on the way to my mom's, then having lunch with my mom & sister, then to another playground with a wading pool! LOVE that playground, we'll be back there lots throughout the summer!! then we had to pick up kipp from work. we should be getting a new vehicle early this coming week. sheesh!! later on we went to the bowling alley to help celebrate kenzie's 6th birthday! and even later on i went over to a friends place for cupcakes and..... it was fun!

saturday we were invited out to allen beach resort. stevie & her family were camping out there... we've never been there. it was a quick drive, just a few kms past stony plain! the kids had a ton of fun playing in the lake & on the beach! of course i have no pictures, because my digital camera *somehow* came with me sans batteries. i bought batteries but they were cheap and wouldn't even turn the camera on :( i did get a few shots after the beach using stevie's batteries.... i realized that my camera is super important, and i felt very sad without it working!

our final grade for our yard is finished, now i have to get it surveyed and off we go with grass! can't wait!

i'm sad because someone important in our lives appears to be no longer speaking to us. it's someone close and the reasoning behind it makes no sense, but there's nothing i can do that hasn't already been done. it just breaks my heart because my kids love this person so much, and it was the only person kipp really talked to and laughed with. :( *sniff sniff*

ANNOUNCEMENT!

OK ALL BLOG READERS, LISTEN UP! i have made my "comments" section open to write comments, even if you don't have a blogger account! i'd love to see who is reading.... and i didn't realize you could only comment if you had a blogger account. so there ya go, i changed it!

today was a nice day outside again, yay! and guess what? we got our top soil delivered!!! we got some delivered last fall, before it snowed, for super cheap... and then we got another bobcat guy to spread it out for us early this spring. but, we didn't realize we had to have the back done too. basically all previous efforts were for nothing, and now tomorrow they should be coming to finish our final grade. then we order sod and voila, we have GRASS! we're going to lay the sod ourselves. i WISH WISH WISH we could have a fence, it would be awesome! but, there's no point in building one when we're moving in the fall/winter and also, our neighbors on one side move at the end of july, so they won't be doing a fence either. i am temped to go buy some of that plastic construction orange colored fencing and set it up to make us a backyard.

i went to look at a pre-owned home tonight... just in case it was amazing and then we wouldn't have signed our contract. but, i don't think i can go from brand new back to really old. oh well. i tried.

tomorrow i have a day off... well sort of. i just have 1 extra in the morning and then the rest of the day off. we have it full of plans though, so i should probably get myself to bed! i always think of such great things to blog about while in the shower, but then never remember then when i am blogging.

my baby girl loves toast! and her newest thing is goldfish crackers -- thanks to her big brother & sister sharing theirs with her. hmmm... she also likes green beans, carrots, peas, ANY fruit, and her oatmeal cereal. she's not big on anythingi have made for her, like chicken with peas, pureed in the blender, or anything else i've tried.

my koolio kai... looking like such a big boy in this picture! i swear, he looks about 8 if you just look from the head up! haha! i don't have many pics of kai this week because he has been so so so grumpy! maybe because he was sick? it's been very.... tiring for me because he wants to cuddle and be carried and whine all day long and i just can't do it with the others to take care of. he's not sick, just not himself. i sent him to grandpa's house this afternoon for a break!

yay! nice weather finally!

yesterday it was finally nice outside! i had 6 kiddos and we went to the park, and then for a walk to the builder's house to pick up our contract. nothing exciting to report so instead i'll share some pictures from the day.

emerson was fussing and the next thing i know, she had passed out on the floor. it was only 8:40am, normally she naps at around 9am but this was too funny to see! especially when i had 3 other kids playing in the same room. she just passed right out. my tired babe!

sometimes things happen and part of me wants to cry, another part wants to yell and scream, another part wants to crawl into my own little world and not have to deal with people at all, another part wants to laugh, another part wants to........... jeeze i dunno.

cradle cap?

i know my babe has this but i have never really cared. am i supposed to care? or do something about it? today a well meaning person told me that my baby had cradle cap and i should do her remedy cure for it... which included a paste & some oil and really i just didn't think it was an issue... hmmm... yeah i think i'll just leave it for now. not hurting anyone and i'm sure it will eventually disappear? or maybe it should be gone by now and that's why the person brought it to my attention??? hmmm.... OMG or maybe it just looks really really bad or funny or something and i don't notice but THAT is the reason people have been pointing and smirking at my baby in public lately?!?!? yes that must be it. ok gotta go wake my baby so i can get rid of that nasty cradle cap before it wears on her emotionally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EEEWWWW!!!!!!!!

one of the grossest things in my parenting career happened to me yesterday. this is gross, so stop reading now if you don't want to hear about puke. although it is kind of funny.

kai had been telling me that he wasn't feeling well all morning. sometimes he says that and it's nothing, but he kept saying it so i thought something was up. anyway i was down on my hands and knees because i was trying to wipe up something on the floor. i was in my PJ pants which are from when i was pregnant, and therefore they kind of fall off my butt, especially in a position like that. kipp and kai were behind me and the next thing i know, i had been puked on. the bottoms of both of me feet, my back & butt, and all down my pants. EW EW EW!!! it was soooo gross. thank goodness kipp was home, so i went off to shower and left him to clean up the mess.

our father's day plan to see CARS was going to have to wait. or was it? hallie really wanted to go, so we decided that i would take her, while kipp stayed home with kai & emerson. next weekend, kipp will take kai.

a big thank you to juanita for calling to let me know there is a HUGE SALE AT GAP KIDS right now!!!!! so, off to gap after the CARS movie. yay! oops. my name is tasha and i have a shopping problem.

then, kai had been feeling well all day, acting like himself, so we all went to my parents' house. mom & i cooked a mexican feast for the fathers. kipp had soccer, so we ate afterwards. later on kipp & i rented a movie, i think it was called firewall? and guess what? at around 11pm kai puked again. :( there go our monday plans :( :( :(

so far this morning he, once again, seems fine. hmmmm............

emerson has super krazy hair, but it must be getting longer or more krazy or something because people have been pointing and smiling at her in public a lot lately. it's really weird hair, kind of sparse and frizzy. it's quite funny looking actually!!! (see pictures)


kipp might shoot me for posting this picture, but it was funny! it's some of the money from selling his car LOL! now we just need to find another one for him.... and FAST!




see the krazy hair?!?? it just stand straight up, supre frizzy -- my other kids didn't have this, i'm inexperienced with frizzy hair that stands on end??? and check out the drool. her shirts are never dry these days.

sold!

the car has been sold. it was a bit of a weird sale... too long of a story but now it's sold. and funny thing is that kipp and the buyer sat around and chatted and may continue to hang out. how WEIRD is that?!?? VERY WEIRD if you know my husband. he is not a social kind of guy, so this just surprises me!

i haven't been taking many pictures, probably because we haven't been outside really ALL week. i hate it when it's rainy, i think it makes me grumpy. (if you couldn't already tell by my posts!)

spent too much money today and i haven't even left the house... and it's only 8:51am. oops.

weekend has arrived!

yesterday was a busy day, although our plans didn't go as smooth as i had thought. it was still a good day! i met with the builder in the morning and we had a nice, civil meeting. we are paying like $50,000 MORE than our original SIGNED contract but there's nothing we can really do about that. oh yeah, and our house is 100 square feet LESS than the original contract now too :( BUT i am happy with it. we added some things that make me smile, like a big deck! and the stairs to the basement will be carpeted and the walls finished. also, the furnace room & laundry will be enclosed so the basement will be totally kid proof!

then we went to ikea for lunch, then had an afternoon playdate, then off to babysitting i went.

today we are having a super lazy day at home. kipp took my van in to get fixed at 7:30am and he is still not back and it's 12:21pm. it's going to cost $508. nice. not. once he gets home, someone is coming to look at and maybe buy his car, and then i'm taking the kids to the dollar store to get him some cute father's day gifts that THEY are picking, to go along with his other gifts. we also made this cute craft the other day (dayhome girl did one too) and i think it will make kipp smile. then i'm off to a late movie tonight, after the game with my dear friend sara! can't wait! if she cancels for whatever reason, i think i'll still go alone. i want some me time!

tomorrow we're taking the kids to see CARS (movie) and then my mom & i are cooking a dinner for the fathers :)

life, people

i'm so annoyed lately with so many things, so many people, my husband, and i can't really go on and on about any of it either. so if i lose it and snap -- watch out!!!!! OMG and i wish my neighbors were moving this month and not next month. i cannot believe what she asked of me today when she called from out in front of the house on her cell phone. come on!!! sometimes i just want to curl up in bed and not come out for a few days. unfortunately i don't get to sleep in tomorrow either now :( i have nothing nice to say so i won't keep going.

ok one more thing.... i wonder, if i didn't make any effort on my part, if anyone would contact me? maybe i will have to do an experiment.......

ok i'm shutting up now :(

the doctor is IN

woah, today was another busy day! i had a house full of 6 kids and then juanita joined us with her 3 kiddos too! it got very busy and the entire house, top to bottom, was pretty much a disaster by the time everyone left! thankfully i had it cleaned up before kipp got home...........

we had a doctor appointment for miss emerson this afternoon, so the dayhome kiddos left early. i love our pediatrician. we met him when emerson was 6 weeks old and in the hospital with RSV. he was covering for our regular ped, and he put emerson's IV in. i left the room while they poked her because the first time she had one (when she was 3 days old) i was in tears. anyway he did an amazing job and made it all seem so simple, and he was the sweetest man. i chased him down the hallway and asked if we could switch to him (i had issues with our ped at the time) and he laughed, and we talked and it all worked out in the end. once we finally switched to him (it was a long process, they don't make things like that easy) he really helped my baby. he got the ball rolling and got her on the right meds, got her a g-tube within a week of meeting him. it was all just amazing. he is the most caring man! whenever he would come see us in the hospital, he just always had a hand on emmy's head while we chatted. just very genuine. he's from africa i believe. anyway today i finally got a picture of him with emmy. she has been through so much and he has been a huge part of her life, so i wanted a picture of him for her scrapbook. can i mention one more time that he is the best and we love him!!!

oh, i almost forgot... the doc says that emerson sounds great and she can stay OFF her meds! yay, mommy was right! i feel so good... so proud that i was doing the right thing. our old pediatrician would've made me feel like dirt, like i was killing my child.... but this time i feel GOOD! and my baby is healthy for the first time ever! wooo hoooo life is good!!

on another note, i had to say the word "testicle" out loud today in a professional conversation... i don't like that word. ew.

ok tomorrow is thursday....... 2 dayhome kids coming for the day. i think my mom is going to be home tomorrow, finally. her short little trip to visit my grandma turned into a week long thing! my dad won't be home until fri or saturday though. i miss them. we normally see each other a few times a week at least. friday i meet with the builder. i'm so nervous. worried. angry. excited. unsure.

day 1 - i survived!

today was the first day of my dayhome.... i mean i usually have extra kids here, but today was the first day for my new family that will be with me until next fall. (meaning fall 2007) it went well. i was busy, didn't really get a break at all, but it was ok. we did every activity we could possibly think of, except going outside. it was way too windy today for that. the girl is hallie's age, the boy is 14 months. yes, busy. the only way to describe it really was busy!

tomorrow i have 3 extra girls coming, the new family is only coming tues & thurs for june. then tues, wed, thurs from july onward.

we finally got our new house plans from the builder. they aren't what i wanted, but might have to do. he told us they are the FINAL plans. i'm a bit angry but i feel we are stuck between and rock and a hard place, so to speak. the house size went down by 100 sq. feet instead of up by 100 sq. feet. weird. not impressed. also the main floor has a bathroom style that i don't like. the bedrooms upstairs are smaller than planned. the front door has ugly glass in it. i am going to talk to the builder friday morning but i'm a bit worried that nothing can be changed :( our "custom" home is no longer custom. that really really sux.

tonight at supper, it was one of those nights where i wish i had more hands. emerson was crying in her highchair, i was trying to get the kids' food cut up so they could eat, dh was in the shower... anyway i got my big helper hallie to feed emerson... by spoon for the first time. it was quite messy, not sure how much actually went into emmy's mouth, but it was such a help and emerson didn't seem to mind. my big girl hallie is growing up -- she is so helpful when i need her to be!!

well, off to bed. tomorrow is going to be a busy day!

the weekend is here!

we're not doing much this weekend. i babysat last night (my regular friday night gig) and then tonight i'm going for an all moms dinner with a couple of friends, but otherwise we don't know the other moms so hopefully it goes ok! the kids and i played outside for a bit today. hallie's big girl bike wasn't working -- daddy's "fixed" the training wheels but now the back wheel doesn't touch the ground, so she used her old trike today. (dad wasn't home and i couldn't fix it back, i did try!!) i bought a new toy today for emerson and the dayhome boy, but it's kinda funny because it's one of the toys we HAD before, but sold after kai was outgrown it. oops! it's a great toy though, the leapstart learning table! thankfully i got it cheap :)
