heritage days!

this weekend there was heritage days AND the fairy berry festival both going on. i decided that we wouldn't go to either because i didn't want to spend money.... but then so many people were raving about each event so i just had to go to at least one of them!

my mom and the girl they have living with them were interested in heritage days, so i got them to join me and my girls (while the boys stayed home) and we went to heritage days! we decided to park at laurier park and do the 20 or 25 minute walk each way. it was fun, however it was HOT. my one foot was sore by the time we were back home, but that could be because i walked it in flip flops (oops?!) but it was a nice, peaceful walk in my opinion. the festival itself, however, wasn't my cup of tea. i've been before, but i've never seen it like this. it was PACKED. we could barely even walk there were so many people. the 3 line ups i stood in for food samples were 15-30 min long EACH, which i thought was ridiculous :( thank goodness hallie enjoyed herself. and it was just too hot to be at a crowded event. oh well!

hallie loved watching these people on stilts, and the dancers (any and all dancers!)
my girls!
krazy hallie!
chub-bay girl
emerson had noodles all over her chin! she enjoyed the noodles and perogies!
the crowd :( this was part of a line up actually!
emerson finally gave in and slept the last 10 minutes or so of the walk...
