so i skipped fall....

sorry, i seem to have skipped through fall! LOL oops! well i'm BACK! i cannot believe my baby girl is already 6 months old. time for another one. (ha, just kidding! i'm done done done!)

so what's new with us? well, quite a lot actually! we are settling into the new routine that the busy school year is bringing us. it's a bit insane, actually.

monday - h & k school, emerson gymnastics, hallie choir
tuesday - emerson playschool, h & k school, h & k swimming
wednesday - h & k school, me & the girls to ladies morning out, hallie gymnastics
thursday - emerson playschool, h & k school, h & k swimming
friday - h & k school, kai gymnastics
saturday - kai hockey
sunday - kai hockey

do i like the busy routine? sometimes yes, sometimes no. if i were taking the kids to their activities and just sitting to watch on my own, it would be awesome. entertaining the others while they are each doing their activity is not ideal though. i'm working on changes for the new year by eliminating swimming, but i am still doing just as much "running" as their gymnastics schedule is picking up a bit. ugh!

little miss mylo is doing well. she's 75% for weight, 25% for height. she just had her first vaccinations at 5.5 months old. i delayed them a bit, i just have been feeling uneasy about things lately and wanted to wait a bit. she did fine though! i had a vaccination as well as it appeared that my measles/mumps/rubella immunity had run out. weird! i just started mylo on solids. so far, she is LOVING them! she's had rice cereal, oat cereal, pears, banana, apple, green beans, sweet potato.... i think that's it. she loves it ALL!!! she's also still taking formula in bottles and also breastfeeding. she likes a variety, what can i say? ;)

kai & hallie are doing well... they are really into gymnastics this year and doing awesome at it. they currently do 1.5 hrs/week but i'm thinking of moving them to the 4hr/week class for january through to april. just not 100% sure i can commit to the driving, etc. but i DO know they both really want it and it's hard to not sign them up when they love it and do so well at it!
kai's hockey is going ok. he still doesn't skate too well, and is the weakest link on his team. he does seem to enjoy it though so we are encouraging him in that.

hallie has joined choir and LOVES it! she is such a little singer around the house, it's very cute.
emerson wanted to join gymnastics too, to be like her big brother & sister. she does well at it and enjoys it. she's also in playschool and really has fun there! she's got a 1 on 1 speech pathologist working with her 1x/month at school and 2x/month at home, as well as a PUF aide for playschool who works with her on everything she is behind in. she is already progressing well with it all!

the older 2 are in swimming and doing great. kai is a bit nervous still.... hallie is a bit nervous too, but also just figured out how to "swim" using kicking and her arms! she is very proud of herself. i think we will stop the swim lessons until the summer though, then start up again then. emerson would like to join as well. i'm ok with it as long as i don't have to go in the water with her. me + swimsuit = nooooooooooo way!!!! she's 3 now so she doesn't need a parent. phew!

report cards just came back! hallie had all excellent "E"s with one "S" for "satisfactory" in math! she's doing awesome! i'm very proud of her! kai is doing great as well, with all "E"s except for one "I" for "improving" with his cutting. how cute.

kipp surprised me and set up our christmas tree tonight while i was out. it seems weird to have it up this early, our christmas lights outdoors too. there's no snow yet. something just seems off. i won't complain though as i am not a snow fan now that i have kids. too many jackets, boots, mess, etc.!!!!

we are off to florida in 11 sleeps!!!! i cannot wait! i think i am more excited than the kids! i have rounded up summer clothes for everyone (except myself, i have NONE!!) and i can't wait to take pictures while we're there!!! fun!

ok i should run. here are some new pictures...

summer days...

i haven't updated in a while.... haven't been doing much.... just hanging out enjoying the summer. it was super hot that one week, and since then it's been sort of CRAPPY outside. what is up with that?!?? for example, today we're supposed to meet kai's playschool friends at the park, but it's thundering and starting to rain. last week we missed as well, due to rain. come on!!!

i'm just trying to figure out what to do on this gloomy day. any ideas?

Canada Day!

happy Canada day! i'm a bit late in posting, but better late than never ;) (that is my motto lately!) we took part in the neighborhood bike parade. unfortunately it was way too busy and unorganized for my liking. it was a big stress fest for me! the kids don't even look happy here LOL! we decorated their bikes (quickly as it seemed like we were late, even though we were on time?? we felt rushed...) and then rode around the neighborhood, stopped for a popsicle, and then back home. it was so hot, which i'm sure didn't help with my stress/grumpiness.

we headed to the mall afterwards for some much needed air conditioning! it was GREAT! we did have one "incident" at the mall though. i'm not sure how it happened, but hallie was kicking upwards while she walked, just for fun, and she managed to kick herself in the nose?!!!! KRAZY! well blood started POURING out her nose, i wasn't too sure what to do! i've never seen a nose bleed like that before. my friend laura ran to grab some paper towel and a passerby called security and helped me sit with hallie to try to stop the bleeding. hallie was very upset! the bleeding kept going, we managed to go through a roll of paper towel before security arrived. they broke out their first aid kit and got hallie some ice. we were quite the "show" to see, apparently, because everyone had stopped to watch. my poor girl! anyway i look back now and laugh, but in the midst of things it was quite an ordeal. it bled for a good 20 minutes but finally stopped. we left the mall looking like war victims. blood all over us... hands, her face, my pants, her dress... yikes!!

hope you all had a great canada day!

we ended off the day with a BBQ hosted by neighbors laura & neil. it was perfect! i was home and in bed before fireworks went off at 11pm. i wasn't quite asleep, but almost. it was a very busy day..... zzzzzzzzzzzzz.........

sad news...

we had something very scary happen with hallie last night. it is stemming from the previous incident. she is ok, thank god. i met with our family doctor today and we are setting up councilling for hallie, as she obviously is in need :( i feel so sad for my baby, i really hope this helps and i hope we can get it all going FAST. please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

last day of kindergarten :(

i'm blogging all over the place, this post is out of order.... however last thursday was hallie's last day of kindergarten. it was a canada day theme.... hallie was very upset to be leaving her amazing teacher, and not looking forward to grade 1 just yet. she cried through the last half of the "ceremony" and the whole way home. :(

hallie dancing with her teacher!
hallie dancing with her sister!
kai popping a balloon with a canada day flag toothpick
kai had brought his puppy to the school, and it was too funny when we realized that another boy had the same puppy there too! kai's is named "puppy" and the other boy's was named "dog." cute!!
hallie with her amazing teacher! she was trying to smile through the tears here. i'm so happy that kai will have her as his teacher next year!

YAY for summer!

this was last week on wednesday.... we had charlotte over to play in the afternoon!

kai - a bit shocked after landing in a very COLD pool of water at the end of the slide LOL!

picnic in the park!

so friday was the first day of no school for hallie, so we celebrated by heading to the park for a picnic with friends sara, madison, cooper, and dexter! i even baked cupcakes, which is a RARE event. (don't get too excited, it was just a mix) we had fun, even though it was a HOT day. we had to find some shade. when we went to pack up and leave, i remembered we had a doctor's appointment for emerson. had almost forgotten about it! we headed straight to the hospital for that. it was a follow up appointment for her ear tubes that i stupidly forgot to book sooner. they've been in for 5 months now and i am just now getting her checked out. oops!!!

she passed her hearing test with flying colors, and the tubes are still in which is great :) we're good to go for another 6 months :) it's so nice not being at the hospital all the time! actually i think we have to go next week for her eye check up. i'm curious to see what he thinks at that appointment, as i'm still having trouble with emmy taking her glasses off. makes me think maybe she doesn't "need" them, otherwise she'd leave them on?? not sure....

hallie and kai had a sleepover at grandma's & grandpa's house after this busy day. they had fun, but kai missed his mommy and called home a bit sad at one point. he was thrilled to see me this morning, and said he had fun.

kai feeding mylo her bottle at the park... mylo gets 1 bottle each day and is otherwise breastfed. the kids enjoy participating in the bottle feeding!
kai burping mylo, he's a pro!
hallie and her friend, madison!

emmy eating her cupcake
miss emmy, waiting for a push!
kai found a piece of wood that automatically became his "gun" -- we don't buy guns in this house at all, yet he takes anything he can find and makes it a gun. lego, k'nex, sticks, etc. sheesh!! even his eggo one day became a gun shape. boys boys boys....

Laken!

we bought new water bottles yesterday. they're awesome. they are LAKEN brand, bpa free and dishwasher safe! yahoo!! they were purchased at Amy Lou boutique and i think you should go buy your child(ren) one too! ;)

emerson eating candy - we walked to mac's the other night while daddy was at soccer (on our hunt for the missing croc - still no luck so i've purchased a replacement pair in the same color...) and i let the kids get some 5 cent candy. they were thrilled!
the LAKEN bottles! my kids chose their own (i chose hallie's, she was at school) there are lots of cute designs to choose from!
mylo after her bath last night....
i can't seem to cook grilled cheese without burning at least 1 sandwich. i get distracted EVERY time and this is what happens. i tell myself each time to stay beside the stove, watch it closely, etc. and it just never seems to work out that way. LOL! (who's coming over for dinner sometime?!? ha ha!)
more candy... i love how blogger uploads pics in random order. fun.
mmmm i love candy... i bought some for myself too ;) shhh don't tell !!

i will upload more pics soon, but for now, i'm beat. i was out ALL day literally from 9:30am to 11pm. i'm seriously failing with all of my goals!!!!! out all day, up too late.... nooooooo!! let's hope for a calmer week next week...
this weekend is the Canada day long weekend. my older 2 kiddos are sleeping over tonight at grandma & grandpa's house. they'll be back by 10am tomorrow. i have a photo shoot tomorrow late afternoon/evening, then sunday evening we're hosting a BBQ, then monday no plans (laundry hopefully!), tuesday is a bike parade in our neighborhood and then over to another neighbors' for a BBQ :) busy busy! what are YOUR PLANS? (this is the part where you comment!)
