i told myself i'd go to bed early, but i'm finding that tough lately. there seems to be a lot going on. tonight, i am sitting here with Mylo on my lap, watching the memorial service of an amazing man who recently was killed in a car accident. i didn't know him well, but i still knew him and for some reason this event has been really tough to deal with. i will post more soon - i have some photos, however just haven't had much computer time lately...

my today
yesterday was a good day. i felt like i was a great mom.... no yelling, no getting mad, i had a nice, calm day. it went well. the kids even went right to sleep as soon as we put them to bed. yay!! (i think they were just REALLY tired!) maybe the swim at the neighbors' right before bed helped.
today wasn't a great mom day. i didn't have patience, hallie was giving me (and her brother) major attitude. once i shipped hallie off to my mom & dad's house for "special time" and supper, things were better. i took the rest of my kids + my 2 dayhome kids to mac's for slurpees, then on to the park. it was HOT outside. only downside -- we lost a croc. emerson is down one shoe now. CRAPPY!!!! i drove around looking for it tonight, but no luck. i will look again tomorrow, otherwise we'll need to go buy another pair. (because of course, the 3 pairs she has aren't quite enough LOL!)
tonight bed time wasn't as smooth as last night, but it was a lot better than when i first started blogging again last week. it was much better. thank god!!!
i'm going to try to get to bed earlier, as that's one goal i haven't been doing well with. it's been 12:30am every night lately, and then Mylo has been waking often for some reason, and then 7:30am comes all too early.

Rainy Day Fun!
The kids got new umbrellas today! Very exciting for them, as they've been asking for 2 years now and i keep refusing to buy them. i find them a waste of money, really, because there just isn't much opportunity to use them. when it's raining, generally we're inside. so, what's the point? PHOTOS! that's the point! LOL! they were only $3.99 at safeway so i agreed. we got home and i told the kids to find a puddle and have at 'er! they had a BLAST!!! and then they were stripped down before being allowed in the house ;)

soccer and sun!
we spent today in the sun, it was a HOT day! +28 i believe.... which was too hot for me but i won't complain! kai had his soccer wind up where they played one 30 minute game, got medals, and then we got the kids ice cream because it was so hot. too hot to wait in the big line ups for the various bouncy castles... we didn't stay long. we got home, kai played around outside a little bit, including trying out the neighbors' rollerblades.... which didn't last long. too hot!
we had cousins and their families comes for supper, as well as my sister and my parents. it was fun! i love having company, it's rare that we do. it seems like many people i know are always having dinner guests, BBQs, etc. and we rarely do. my husband is fairly quiet, but i do love having people! who wants to come for a BBQ this summer??? (don't all jump at once LOL!)
maybe there's a secret rumor out about my cooking? (i admit, i'm not the best!) it's ok, we can order in and it's still fun! and really, BBQ'ing can't be screwed up too badly... can it?? just burnt i suppose... my husband is in charge of the BBQ, i'm terrified to BBQ anything, and he usually doesn't burn things.
hallie's cousin, who is 8 yrs old, slept over on saturday. hallie was thrilled to host her first ever sleepover! kai felt left out, so he slept on hallie's floor. too cute.

kai's last soccer game of the season - he scored the first goal of the season, and last goal too! he really enjoyed playing soccer for the first time, and will definately be playing again. for winter, however, he has decided to play hockey. we registered him last weekend. yikes!!
